Project Description:

The site was built using Pods for custom content types, highlighted below. There are many more minor features not listed here.

Access Control

  • Only active ‘online-enabled’ subscribers can access current issue articles and PDFs
    • Subscribers can also purchase back issues from previous years in digital PDF format (downloadable after purchase) or sent to them via mail in the tangible magazine format
  • Only subscribers who have purchased an article (either by credit card, or article credits) can view them and download the associated PDF
    • Some articles are ‘freely’ available, in which access is then limited based on additional settings configured per-article or per-issue by management
  • Only certain staff members can manage Articles, Subscribers, Reporting, and or Blog posts (depending on their job title)
  • Institutions limited to # of concurrent seats and given access by IP ranges
    • Once an Institution is detected by their IP, their activities are logged for reporting and concurrency implementation

API Access (JSON or XML)

  • iOS App access to the API to authenticate existing subscribers and deliver issues each month
  • nRelate (the provider of Search on the site) access to the API to pull article content in for search indexing purposes each month
    • Additional API calls available for ‘full reindexing’ if ever needed

E-commerce

  • Subscriptions (auto-renewing) and Article / Issue purchase handling including digital delivery
    • Custom Palm Coast Data API integration to pull / push subscription data per-subscriber
    • Payflow Pro API integration for auto-renewal subscriptions (profiles) and one-time purchases using Credit Cards
  • Extensive Gravity Forms integration for processing Subscription-related and Customer Service forms
  • Custom Reporting and Exporting of overall performance and subscriber / order data

Migration Services

  • Migrated client from previous site built with ColdFusion ontop of a MS SQL database to PHP and MySQL
    • Extensive MySQL migration provided which was custom tailored due to many concerns with and issues in their previous database’s data integrity and structure
  • Migrated thousands of issue and article PDFs and relinked them to the corresponding migrated items
